Investors & Partners

Public dollars and private capital, pulling in the same direction.

Onslow Coastal Alliance is a public-private partnership.

The partnership

County, municipalities, and the private sector at one table.

Economic development in Onslow County spans seven jurisdictions, two military installations, a community college, and a utility landscape that changes block to block. Onslow Coastal Alliance (OCA) exists so a company, a site consultant, or a founder deals with one team instead of coordinating that themselves.

Private investors sit alongside these public partners — shaping the annual work plan, not just funding it.

* Private Director recommendation: Private investors in good standing who meet the annual contribution level set by the Board may recommend one candidate to the Nominating Committee. Private Directors are elected by the private members at the annual meeting, subject to final Board approval, and must keep the contribution current each year they serve. Local government members appoint their directors separately. Investor status does not guarantee a Board seat.

Board meetings: The Board of Directors meets every other month. Board meetings are open to directors only, and confidential project information is not shared outside the Board.

* Annual investor roundtable: Participation is subject to scheduling, capacity, and Onslow Coastal Alliance approval. Premier Partners may be invited when space and the topic are appropriate. Leadership and Founding Partners receive a reserved seat. Founding Partners may request the opportunity to host one roundtable during the investor year, subject to approval, scheduling, space, and alignment with the roundtable’s purpose.

* Commercial property listings: Premier Partners and above may keep up to 15 commercial or industrial listings in Onslow County active on OCANC.com at one time — not 15 per year. A listing that sells, leases, or is removed frees a slot. Staff enters each record and links it to the partner’s page, and the website directs the inquiry; OCA receives no commission and does not represent the property. Residential property is not eligible, and a submission must arrive complete: address or parcel, size, use, sale or lease status, price or “call,” a photo, owner or broker authorization, and a working link. One record per property; a listing is removed if availability is not confirmed when staff asks. Sites from the municipalities, Onslow County, or a public utility are entered by staff at no charge and do not count against the cap.

Listing disclaimer: All listings must be for commercial or industrial property located in Onslow County, and no more than 15 may be active at one time. Acceptance, placement, and continued publication of any listing remain at the discretion of Onslow Coastal Alliance staff and the Board of Directors, and a listing may be declined, suspended, or removed at any time.

Disclosure: Investor benefits are subject to Onslow Coastal Alliance policies, event availability, staff capacity, and applicable laws and regulations. Onslow Coastal Alliance may modify benefits as programs, events, and organizational needs evolve. Benefits do not confer governance rights beyond those provided by the bylaws. Confidential, proprietary, and unannounced project information is not included as an investor benefit.

County and municipal support funds the baseline; private investment is what lets us compete for the projects that raise wages across the county. Here are the four places that support moves the needle.

Site readiness

Due diligence, utility planning, and marketing for Camp Davis and Jacksonville Business Park — so buildings and acreage are shovel-ready before a prospect calls.

Higher-wage recruitment

Targeted outreach to advanced manufacturing, aviation and UAS, marine trades, logistics, and healthcare employers that pay at or above the county wage standard.

Civilian workforce growth

Training partnerships with Coastal Carolina Community College, NCWorks, and Onslow County Schools that convert transitioning service members and graduates into local hires.

One coordinated front door

A single team aligning the County, six municipalities, utilities, the Chamber, and the private sector so a prospect never has to navigate six phone calls.
